Dr. Georgina Muhammad Driskell

Dr. Georgina Sabiha Muhammad Driskell is a retired principal and lifelong educator committed to student success and community transformation. Born into the prominent Muhammad family, she attended the Muhammad University of Islam from third grade and was part of the generation that transitioned to Clara Muhammad Schools under Imam Warith Deen Muhammad's leadership in the mid-1970s. A graduate of Columbia College (Journalism) and subsequent educator, Dr. Driskell went on to earn her Illinois Type 75 Principal Certification and spent decades serving as a principal in Chicago Public Schools, advocating for rigorous academics and culturally responsive education. Her educational philosophy centers on partnership with families, particularly mothers, believing that parental mental health and engagement are critical to children's success. An eloquent voice for the importance of independent schools serving Black children and a champion of rigorous standards in education, Dr. Driskell continues to contribute to discussions about educational equity and the legacy of the Clara Muhammad School system.
